A COVID-19 survivor and medical doctor, Doyin Okupe, said he battled and humiliated the virus to a standstill, using some known therapeutics and roots.

Okupe, who had served the administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, announced on his Twitter handle.

PerSecondNews recalls that Okupe and his wife, Aduralere, had on April 23 tested positive for COVID-19 and were moved to the isolation centre in Sagamu where he took the medications.

After spending about two weeks at the isolation ward, they survived the deadly Coronavirus disease and were discharged, he said.

Disclosing the drugs and roots he used to cure him, he said: “My medications for Covid-19. Hydroxychloroquine 400mg twice daily for 2days then 400mg daily for 3days.

“Azithromycin 500mg fly, Zinc sulphate 100mg dly. VitzC 1200mg daily.

“I supported with a mixture of ginger, garlic, tumeric and lemon. In Kaduna, they added dongoyaro leaves.”

He, however, noted that there was no global consensus among the scientists or medical experts on any one treatment regime yet.

“No credible scientific research document is presently available or acceptable 4 treatment of COVID-19.

“Key factor is the immune status of the patient. Boost your immunity with known supplements,” Okupe tweeted.

He warned against self-medication saying; “If u must take hydroxychloroquine please speak to your doctor to confirm if you have any cardiac ARRHYTHMIAS.

“If you do, you need close monitoring before embarking on the use of these drugs.90 to 95% of infected patients will go through even without hospitalization. 90%+ of young people will survive attack.”
