A businessman in Lagos got more than he bargained for when two pugilist-women pounced on him in the morning hours of the day and pummeled him in the open.
The pugnacious women, who are both 55 years old, took the fight to the businessman and humiliated him over an undisclosed unsettled business.
On Wednesday, the Police arraigned the women at a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in the jurisdiction where the crime was committed.
The duo of Rachael Eniola, 55, and Kemi Muritala, 55, is facing a three-count charge of assault, threat to life and a breach of public peace.
They pleaded innocence of the offences.
Addressing the court at their arraignment, Police Prosecutor, ASP Ikem Ukor, said the women committed the offences on March 16 about 11.20 a.m. at No. 5, Onyemeachi Thomas St., in Ijanikin area of Lagos State on Badagry Expressway.
”The accused beat up a businessman, Mr Obinna Ubah and tore his clothes,” he told the court, adding they also conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.
Ukor said the duo also threatened to go nude in protest and also promised to deal with the complainant and his family.The offences violated Sections 56, 168 and 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Ruling on the bail applications of the accused, Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya admitted them to a bail of N300, 000 in addition to two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until April 27
