A former Plateau State Deputy Governor and Senator, Mr Ignatius Datong Longjan, has passed on.
The Plateau South senator died in a Turkish hospital following a protracted illness.
Two of the lawmaker’s aides,  Mr Wulime Goyit (Media) and Mr John Dafa’an (ex-chief of staff) confirmed the death.
“It is true, our father and distinguished Senator representing Plateau South is death, baba died after battling with illness for a long time in Turkey,” Dafa’an said.
The officials, however, did not give his age.
PerSecondnews reports that Longjan was elected in 2019 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
