The Governor of Kano State,  Abdullahi Ganduje on Friday said that the introduction of Information Communication Technology (ICT), was behind the absence of crime and criminality, declaring the state the safest in the region.

He stated this while fielding questions from State House Correspondents, after he led a delegation of Kano people to pay a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

According to him, having in place tracking devices to monitor all movement including vehicles have contributed a great deal in reducing security challenges in the state.

Ganduje said the establishment of a Command and Control Centre has enabled security agencies to communicate with their personnel without hinderances.

The governor added that the construction of army training centre at Falgore, and committing about N500 million to the project which include fully equipped dormitory, shooting range, recreational centers, among others, has also contributed in keeping bandits away from the forest and securing the state.

Ganduje also said that about 3,000 children are being integrated from Almajiri Education System into the western education.

He also said the state now offers free education from primary to secondary schools, this is even as he said the 400,000 out of school children have been captured in the state database while plans are on to absorbed them in school.

He also explained that the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was not part of the delegation because, it was not possible to carry all the five Emirs together on the trip.

Ganduje said that they were at the State House to thank President Buhari on his achievements including linking railway from Katsina to Niger Republic, dualising two major roads linking Kano to neigbouring states.
