The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, slammed the Department of State Services (DSS), with the sum of N100, 000 over its delay to serve the defence counsel with the additional proof of evidence in the ongoing trial of Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, who gave the order, also ordered the DSS to release the Convener of the #RevolutionNow Protest and Sahara Reporters publishers, Sowore within 24 hours.

Justice Ojukwu said the fine must be paid to the defendants before the next adjourned date, as she expressed anger over the development which has caused the court to adjourn the trial at the instance of the DSS.

The court therefore adjourned the trial continuation on the seven-count treasonable felony charge against the defendants until Dec. 6.
