The senior special assistant media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari says IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s threat against the federal government is empty.
” Presidency wishes to restate that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari is strong enough to defend its territory against any threat, assuring all Nigerians that there is no reason to worry about the hollow outburst by Nnamdi Kanu, the disputed leader of IPOB on returning to the country “with hell”.
The Buhari administration is in constant touch with other friendly nations and has the best assurances that they would continue to reciprocate the respect Nigeria has for the sovereignty of their nations, he said in a statement.
” Nigerians have nothing to fear from this.”
” Instead, we see the re-enactment of his bizarre, episodic threat as a mere distraction which will not be allowed to detract from the existing cordial relationships between Nigeria and other countries.
Nnamdi Kanu gave a radio broadcast on Sunday saying he was in Israel, and indicating he owed his survival to the Jewish state.
Kanu, a former London estate agent, is a factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement and the outlawed pirate radio station Radio Biafra but has not been seen in public since September last year.
“I will be back soon in the land of Biafra and I will bring hell with me,” he said.
“IPOB will liberate Biafra and we will not take part in any elections until we get a referendum, it is not negotiable, we will do it by any means,” he added.
