Abuja – A Federal High Court siting at Abuja on Tuesday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to arrest and investigate the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole over allegation of massive corruption filed by Bishop Ochei.
The presiding judge, Justice A.I. Chikere while ruling on an application before him for leave to issue an order of mandamus on the EFCC to arrest and investigate Oshiomhole over allegations of corruption, directed that both the EFCC and Oshiomhole should be served within five days with effect from Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
Bishop Ochei to serve Counsel to Bishop Ochei, Dr. West-Idahosa while moving a Motion Ex-parte filed in Suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/628/ 2018, urged the Court to allow the EFCC and Oshiomhole to file a reply to the serious and weighty allegations of corruption made against them by the Applicant with regards to the fight against corruption agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
West-Idahosa referred the court to 86 exhibits filed before the Court by Bishop Ochei in support of his application.
The learned Counsel said he is relying on several Orders of the Federal High Rules particularly Sections 15 & 24 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
Justice Chikere later adjourned the case to October 23, 2018 for arguments by all the parties.
