After trying and failing to become a senator, former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Monday officially announced his candidacy to run again for the Abia North Senatorial seat in 2019.
The controversial former governor said those that represented the area in the past were concerned about “self- aggrandizement” at the expense of people’s welfare.
“It’s a mess, but it can be fixed,” he said at his home in Igbere, Abia state.
With the bid, Kalu has declared open warfare against Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who is the current senator representing Abia North.
