Abuja – The new leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra has kicked against the militant approach of its former leader Nmamdi Kanu whose sack as Director of Radio Biafra was announced on Sunday.

Accordingly, the new leadership of IPOB under Mazi  Ezenwachukwu Sampson Okwudili, who is also the new Director of Radio Biafra, urged voters in Anambra State through a radio broadcast to ensure that they exercise their franchise at the governorship election slated for this Saturday.

According to the broadcast; “It’s your civic responsibilities to exercise your franchise, and IPOB has no candidate in the election. Kanu and his cohorts including Uche Mefor and Emma Powerful cannot continue to feed fat on the blood of young innocent men in a misdirected and infantile adventure.

“We have ideological clarity and methodology in our struggle. Radio Biafra is back and alive and as we say failure to heed to IPOB directives has its consequences and Comrade Emma Powerful should know this. A word is enough for the wise,” the broadcast concluded.

With the repeated Radio Biafra broadcast from 6 am to 7 am on Wednesdayon 7240 KHZ, 41 meter-band, short wave, it looks clear that Mazi  Ezenwachukwu Sampson Okwudili’s leadership appears to be consolidating its position.

Radio Biafra broadcast which was monitored in Abuja on Wednesday November 15, 2017, on 7240 KHZ, 41 meter-band, short wave, also announced the dismissal of Comrade Emma Powerful as the spokesman of IPOB.

The new IPOB leadership accused Emma Powerful of being the custodian of former IPOB’s former leader’s ill-gotten wealth, adding that he (Powerful) allegedly joined Kanu in misappropriating the organisation’s money.

Emma Powerful was also accused of refusing to speak up for the release of those who were detained with Nnamdi Kanu and are still in detention while Kanu is enjoying his freedom.

The broadcast announced that those still detained include Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, stressing that the three remain members of IPOB’s brothers that were arrested at the same time with Kanu who should not be forgotten.

The new IPOB leadership said the organisation has never been a violent one saying that the international community will never support any violent organization in its bid to actualize its dreams, no matter how compelling its case could be.

According to the new IPOB leadership; “Once an organization begins to embrace violence, it will be labeled a terrorist organization. The era of threats, hate speeches, incitements, violence and intimidation, abuse and hooliganism are gone with the past and corrupt leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Nwanekaenyi Kanu.”

Radio Biafra therefor directed all IPOB members world-wide to listen to tune in every morning on “7240 KHZ, 41 meter-band, short wave and at 9 PM on 11530 KHZ on 25 meter band. They can also listen to Radio Biafra on tunein.com, streamer.com, radio garden and other similar services that are available, on smartphones and computers, the announcement said.

The broadcast further said; “We hereby demand their release. Neither Emma Powerful nor Kanu, since his release, has spoken about them or appealed for the release of these our freedom fighters.”

So far, Radio Biafra has remained on air and has been dishing out messages in both English and Igbo twice daily since Sunday November 12, 2017.
