By Amos Dunia, Persecond News, Abuja – A former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and a party stalwart, Francis Ikonomwan has asserted the only presidential aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC),that can neutralize the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2019 former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
In a statement made available to Persecond News, Ikonomwan explained that given the current permutations of the PDP ahead of 2019 aimed at zoning its presidential ticket to the North, there is no doubt that Kwankwaso remains the most beautiful bride from the Northern part of the country that the APC needs to hold on to power.
He also said that with the political and economic state of the nation presently, it beholds on the APC to present to the Nigerian people a sellable and acceptable candidate that enjoys national appeal.
According to him; “Irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliation, the candidature of Senator Musa Kwankwaso will not only sanitize and unite the APC but will harvest the left over in PDP and other political parties.
“Senator Musa Kwankwaso has a sound track record that has is imprinted in the sand of times in the Nigerian political landscape. This has seriously endear him to the people.
“The PDP led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi has identified this fact and are making frantic effort to cash in and woo Kwankwaso to return to the opposition PDP with their 2019 Presidential ticket as a bate. Unfortunately for them, kwankwaso is a man of integrity who will never accept such Greek gift.”
Ikonomwan also said that having come second in the 2015 APC presidential primaries, Kwankwaso remains a serious factor in the Party adding that once Musa Kwankwaso clinche the APC presidential ticket in 2019, there will be mass exodus of members of the PDP and other political parties in the National Assembly and State Governors to the APC.
