#EndBadGovernance protesters return to Abuja streets

1.3k

Protesters have resumed demonstrations in the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday, reigniting the movement after a brief halt following earlier crackdowns and arrests of organizers.

The protest, which started on August 1, is expected to end today with a one-million-man march across the country.

In anticipation of the protest, security forces beefed up their presence around the Central Business District on Friday.

Also at Eagles Square, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of security agents stationed at the facility, a change from the past three days when there were no protests.

Protesters gathered as early as 7 a.m. on Saturday, loudly demanding “end hunger” and “reverse fuel subsidy removal” in a demonstration that highlighted their concerns and frustrations.
