Few weeks to party primary, leading Ondo APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Paul Akintelure, passes away

Dr. Paul Akintelure, a prominent candidate for governorship in Ondo State who campaigned on the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, has died.

Akintelure, a physician from Igbotako in the state’s Okitipupa Local Government Area, passed away early on Tuesday.

Akintelure died in Lagos following a brief illness.

During the 2012 governorship election, he ran alongside the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on the platform of the now-defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Persecondnews reports that Ondo South Senatorial District where Akintelure hailed from is to produce the next governor in accordance with the state’s zoning arrangement among the three senatorial districts.
Ondo South Senatorial District
covers the local government areas of Ese Odo, Ilaje, Ile Oluji/Okeigbo, Irele, Odigbo, and Okitipupa.
