First HoldCo Plc shares surged 10 percent on Friday, closing at ₦144.10 after the financial services group released its nine-month results.

The stock gained ₦13.10 from its previous close of ₦131 on the Nigerian Exchange, hitting the daily price limit as investors reacted to the figures.

The group posted a 65.1 percent jump in profit after tax to ₦744.45 billion for the nine months ended September 2026, up from ₦450.87 billion a year earlier.

Profit before tax rose 60.8 percent to ₦911.24 billion, while gross earnings grew 8.8 percent to ₦2.87 trillion.

The price gain lifted the company’s market capitalisation from ₦5.95 trillion to ₦6.5 trillion, an increase of about ₦550 billion.

The rally followed a recent decline that saw the stock close at ₦131 on Thursday after falling from ₦137.30 earlier in the week, even as other major banking stocks traded lower on Friday.
