Nigeria’s top-flight football league has finally broken its decade-long title sponsor drought.
EuroMatch Group secured a massive three-year agreement valued at $7.5 million.
Consequently, the competition will officially change its name to the EuroMatch NPFL starting from the 2026/27 season.
Persecondnews reports that this landmark agreement fills a sponsorship void left vacant since telecommunications giant Globacom ended its prominent partnership following the 2016 Super Four tournament.
Since then, the league managers shifted to a multi-sponsor approach while awaiting a major title partner.
Financially, this fresh corporate backing injects a whopping $2.5 million annually into the local game.
Crucially, sixty percent of this yearly revenue is strictly reserved for the teams.
This provides the twenty competing league clubs a collective annual share of $1.5 million.
At current exchange rates, this pooled allocation hands the twenty clubs roughly ₦2.019 billion every year.
This direct financial boost is expected to significantly transform team operations.
Meanwhile, the top-flight tournament sheds its temporary moniker to fully embrace this lucrative new commercial era.
