Months after being reportedly shot on a film set in Ogun State, comic actor and skit maker Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has finally broken his silence, reports Persecondnews.
The incident, which occurred in March near the Sango-Ota Bridge, resulted in a gunshot wound to his leg and required emergency hospitalization in Alakuko, Lagos.
Following the event, Perry stepped away from the public eye to recover.
He was later transferred to another medical facility in the Ikeja GRA where he continued to receive treatment.
Since the incident, Shaggi has largely remained silent about what happened, with little information publicly available about his condition or recovery.
However, the actor has now addressed his prolonged absence in an emotional message shared on his WhatsApp channel obtained by Persecondnews on Saturday.
He thanked his fans and supporters for remaining with him despite his inability to interact with them as frequently as he had done before the incident.
Shaggi said the patience, loyalty and continued support from his followers had meant a lot to him during what appeared to have been a difficult period.
He also suggested that there was more to the situation than he was currently able to disclose, asking his supporters to remain patient as he prepares to tell his story.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet,” he wrote, adding that he had not forgotten his fans or stopped thinking about returning to them.
The actor further hinted at a comeback, saying he hoped the day would come soon when he could reconnect with his audience and be himself with them again.
Shaggi ended the message by assuring his supporters that when he returns, he would come back “better, stronger” and ready to make up for the time he has spent away, while thanking them for staying with him throughout his silence.
