Manchester United delivered a commanding performance at Old Trafford on Sunday, securing a resounding 4-0 victory over Everton.

The win, their biggest in the Premier League this season, marked a significant turnaround following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich in Ruben Amorim’s debut match as manager.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a low strike that deflected off Jarrad Branthwaite and into the net.

The goal came from a cleverly worked Bruno Fernandes corner, showcasing United’s improved attacking cohesion.

Just seven minutes later, Joshua Zirkzee, making his first Premier League start since September, doubled the lead with a close-range finish after Fernandes capitalized on an Everton defensive error.

Everton had started the game brightly, with Beto wasting two early chances, but their defensive lapses proved costly.

The second half began disastrously for the visitors, as Amad Diallo’s quick thinking set up Rashford for his second goal just 20 seconds after the restart.

Rashford’s clinical finish emphasized United’s growing confidence under Amorim’s guidance.

Diallo continued to torment Everton, stealing the ball from James Tarkowski and driving forward to assist Zirkzee for United’s fourth goal.

The young forward calmly slotted the ball past the keeper, sparking jubilant celebrations at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils converted four of their five shots on target, showcasing ruthless efficiency.

The victory moved Manchester United up to ninth in the Premier League table, providing a much-needed boost after a shaky start to the campaign.

For Everton, the defeat deepened their struggles, leaving them winless in five league matches and just two points above the relegation zone in 15th place.

They have also failed to score in their last four games, a worrying sign for manager Sean Dyche.

Rashford expressed his delight after the match, emphasizing the team’s focus on consistency.

He said: “Nice result. We have to back this performance up and hopefully win in the week,” Rashford told Sky Sports.

He applauded Amorim’s positive influence on the squad, adding, “The manager has come in with a great attitude, and that’s passed on to the players. We are happy.”

Amorim’s new era at Manchester United seems to be gaining momentum following their Europa League triumph over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

Sunday’s emphatic display highlighted the team’s potential under the Portuguese manager as they prepare for a tough trip to Arsenal on Wednesday.

For Everton, the defeat raises questions about their ability to turn their season around.

Sloppy defending and a lack of cutting-edge in attack have left them perilously close to the relegation zone.

Dyche will need to address these issues urgently to reverse their fortunes.
