Stepping up operations against insurgents and terrorists amid threats of US intervention, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) received a directive to intensify its efforts to restore peace and stability.

Air Chief Marshal Sunday Aneke issued the order during a strategic meeting with air component commanders on Wednesday.

“We must fly smarter and strike harder not only to neutralise threats but also to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians,” Aneke said, noting the need for intelligence-driven and well-coordinated air operations.

He reiterated that every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism.

The Air Chief said the evolving nature of threats demands synchronization of air, land, and maritime operations to achieve joint effectiveness.

“Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to work closely with the sister services and other security agencies to ensure a united front in the fight against terrorism and criminality,” he said.

Aneke assured personnel of continued investment in welfare, training, and technology upgrades to enhance operational performance.

“I will ensure you are equipped, trained, and motivated to deliver results,”he said, reiterating the NAF’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to secure the country while maintaining professionalism and accountability.

Aneke urged commanders to translate strategic directives into action and ensure that every sortie delivers measurable impact.

“The safety and confidence of our citizens are our mission success indicators. Nigeria is counting on us, and we will not fail.”
