Abuja Traffic Alert: Trailer Falls, Causes Gridlock on Kubwa Expressway

1.1k

A fallen trailer on the Kubwa Expressway in the Federal Capital Territory has caused a major traffic jam on Monday morning.

A Persecondnews correspondent at the scene, reports that the incident has blocked a large part of the road, disrupting the free flow of traffic.

According to Felix Theman, the FCT Sector Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps, the gridlock is because a section of the expressway has been blocked by the fallen trailer.

The FRSC has sent officers to the scene to manage the traffic, said Theman, adding that his team is making sure drivers use the available service lane and other accessible lanes on the expressway.

“Our officers are fully on the ground, ensuring that motorists use the available service lane and the one or two lanes that are still accessible on the expressway,” he said.

Theman stressed that road users need to be patient and disciplined to prevent the situation from getting worse.

“As we work to remove the fallen trailer and get traffic back to normal, commuters and motorists are advised to be more careful and follow traffic rules.

“The FRSC is committed to keeping all road users safe and reducing traffic disruptions,” he said.
