Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is reportedly close to leaving KRC Genk, according to the club’s manager Thorsten Fink.

The 24-year-old has been linked to several top clubs, including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Napoli.

Fink confirmed that negotiations are underway, saying, “Negotiations are underway. There’s a club interested. It was too risky for both parties to play.”

He added: “We’re working with players I know can give it their all, not with guys who might be preoccupied. It was better for everyone to leave Tolu out of the squad.”

Persecondnews reports that Arokodare was left out of Genk’s squad on Thursday night for their UEFA Europa Conference League clash with Lech Poznan to avoid any risk.

The striker’s impressive performances last season have made him a highly sought-after player.

Arokodare finished as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 21 goals and was named the best African player in the league.

His current form has also attracted interest from several top clubs, with Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly opening talks with Genk.

According to reports, Genk is asking for around €25 million, including bonuses, for Arokodare’s transfer.

The deal may be finalized soon, potentially linking the Nigerian striker to one of Europe’s top clubs.
