Breaking: Buhari’s Body Interred in Daura Home

815

The interment of former President Muhammadu Buhari took place at his Daura residence on Monday, following a solemn military ceremony.

The graveside service included a colorful military honor and the presentation of the national flag to his family, accompanied by a 21-gun salute, a customary military honor for heads of state.

During the deeply emotional moment, Yusuf Buhari, the former President’s only son, was visibly overcome with grief.

Due to restricted access to the residence, many locals climbed trees to catch a glimpse of the proceedings.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, delivered a citation honoring the former president’s life and service.

The final rites ceremony, held at a makeshift prayer ground, concluded with prayers led by the Chief Imam of Daura for the repose of his soul.

Buhari was lowered into his grave at precisely 5:50 p.m.

In adherence to Islamic traditions, the grave was narrow, just wide enough to accommodate the body.

The interment occurred within the former President’s courtyard, with only a select few dignitaries granted access.

President Bola Tinubu and other notable figures were present at the graveside to pay their final respects.

Yusuf Buhari was the sole family member visibly present at the graveside and was seen greeting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.

The Chief Imam performed the concluding prayers at the graveside.

As a final act of gratitude for his service to Nigeria, the national flag that draped the casket was presented to the family.
