CAF Unveils “Born Winners” Slogan for 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched the official slogan for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, “Born Winners,” a celebration of the resilient and purpose-driven women shaping the future of African football.

The slogan reflects the identity of African women who embody a winning spirit both on and off the pitch.

In a communique, CAF said on Wednesday that the bold slogan is more than just a rallying cry; it is a declaration of identity.

“Born Winners is a tribute to the spirit of African women who embody victory, in sport, in society, and in every corner of life,” the continental football body said.

The theme honours African women who are the driving force behind football on the continent, from grassroots pioneers to elite stars, and pays homage to their consistent resilience and ambition.

CAF noted the broader symbolism of the slogan, stating that “Born Winners” captures more than just on-field success.

It underlines a legacy of determination, ambition, and societal impact.

“Resilience is the unshakable drive to rise, even when the odds are against you. Ambition is the courage to break new ground, on and off the pitch. Legacy is the influence that echoes through generations, transforming communities and changing lives,” CAF said.

The unveiling of the slogan has drawn comparisons to the Nigeria Football Federation’s campaign, “Mission X,” launched in June for the Super Falcons as they chase a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Both campaigns align in highlighting identity, leadership, and the power of African women in sport.

The 11th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is set to kick off in Morocco on Saturday, with Nigeria’s Super Falcons in Group B, facing Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria.
