President Bola Tinubu has sworn in eight new Federal Permanent Secretaries, marking a significant development in the country’s administrative landscape.

Additionally, 18 new Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) have also taken their oaths, bolstering the commission’s ranks.

The ceremony which took place at the State House, Abuja, preceded the first Federal Executive Council meeting in the new year.

The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries are: Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia State), Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa State), Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi State), Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu State), Usman Aminu (Kebbi State), Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers State), Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State), and Kalba Usman.(Gombe State).

In addition to the Permanent Secretaries, 18 new Federal Commissioners were also sworn in.

They were appointed by President Tinubu in August 2024, pending confirmation by the Senate.

The new commissioners represent various states across Nigeria, including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, and others.

The swearing-in ceremony was followed by the first Federal Executive Council meeting of the year, which resumed after a six-week recess.

The meeting observed a minute silence in honour of a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and one-time Senator, retired Lt.-Gen. Jeremiah Useni, who passed away on January 23, 2025.
