After more than a decade of battling banditry, terrorism, and other security threats, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has announced that 2025 will be the year Nigeria’s military finally overcomes the challenges.

According to Musa, the military is poised to decisively tackle and eradicate the scourge of insecurity that has plagued the country for over a decade.

Addressing the troops of “Operation Safe Haven” in Plateau State’s Mangu Local Government Area, the army general issued a rallying call to the armed forces, urging them to make 2025 the year they eradicate all forms of insecurity menacing the nation.

Musa told the troops: “This year, 2025, will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s security. We must make it the year we finally eradicate banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity threatening our great nation.”

He, however, commended the military’s exploits in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity, urging a redoubling of their efforts.

The CDS noted with satisfaction the dedication, gallantry and bravery of the troops and urged them to sustain the momentum.

During his visit, Musa inspected arms and ammunition recovered by OPSH and reviewed a guard of honor mounted in his honor.

Gen. Musa joined Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division and OPSH Commander, in a push-up exercise with the troops.

He described the exercise as a reflection of their commitment to the fight against insurgency.
