Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, welcomed the first baby of 2025 at the Asokoro District Hospital in Abuja.
Favour Stephen Odion, a baby girl, arrived at exactly 12:27 am on January 1, weighing 3.6kg.
The baby’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oyinbo Odion were overjoyed to receive gifts and well-wishes from the First Lady.
Sen. Tinubu, represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, presented baby gifts, including post-natal care products, nutritional supplies, and cash presents to Favour and other babies born on New Year’s Day in the FCT.
Persecondnews reports that the First Lady prayed for God’s protection and blessings upon the children, wishing them long life, good health, and prosperity.
She also counselled the mothers of the newborn babies on the importance of proper care, exclusive breastfeeding, immunization, and timely post-natal care.
Tinubu commended the Asokoro General Hospital for its excellent services and assured the mothers that they would receive quality post-natal care.
In addition to the gifts, Tinubu presented birth certificates to Favour and the first baby boy of 2025, Zimchikachim Ejiofor, born at 7:14 am on January 1, 2025, weighing 3kg.
Persecondnews recalls that the National Population Commission has registered and offered birth certificates to over 10 million children across Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of registration for national planning and proper documentation.
