The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has announced its intention to grant the just-released 52 minors scholarships up to the secondary school level.

According to PersecondNews, President Bola Tinubu ordered the release of the minors arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

At a media briefing on Tuesday, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Kundak, NAPPS Board of Trustees Chairman, applauded President Tinubu on the newly released entrepreneurship curriculum for pupils in basic schools, stressing the need for skill acquisition for national development.

The association, which hailed the president for ordering the release of the minors, reiterated its commitment to fostering progress in educational development and quality pedagogy while it continues to be a pillar of excellence and positive transformation in the country’s educational landscape.

Kundak announced that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) had approved the 2023 NAPPS Constitution, ensuring strict alignment of all governance procedures with the constitution.

He said the official recognition from CAC distinguishes the duly appointed Board of Trustees of the NAPPS from any other group claiming such authority.

Chief Yomi Otubela, NAPPS National President, said the association is committed to reducing out-of-school children through its various scholarship interventions.

He stated that member-schools would regularly award scholarships to a minimum of five students.

Otubela also praised Tinubu for approving grants to assist private schools, adding that no member-school has increased school fees beyond 15 percent despite the economic hardship.
