Equatorial Guinea government official embroiled in sextape scandal

Mr. Baltasar Engonga, Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) in Equatorial Guinea, has been arrested amid a shocking sextape scandal.

The 54-year-old economist allegedly recorded over 400 intimate videos with married women, including high-profile individuals such as his brother’s wife, cousin, the sister of the President of Equatorial Guinea, and about 20 ministers’ wives.

The scandal surfaced during a fraud investigation against Engonga, which led to the search of his house and office.

Authorities found several CDs containing the incriminating videos, some filmed in his office next to the National Flag.

Online leaks of the footage have since sparked widespread outrage.

According to local media platform Ahora EG, Engonga, also known as “Bello,” had consensual sexual relations with the women involved.

However, Attorney General Nzang Nguema emphasized that consent does not exempt Engonga from potential crimes, citing concerns about coercion, violence, and the spread of contagious diseases.

Reacting to the scandal, Equatorial Guinea’s government has adopted a “zero-tolerance” policy, suspending officials who engaged in sexual activities within ministry offices.

This move aims to maintain the integrity of public service.
