Following the sack of five ministers from his cabinet, President Bola Tinubu has nominated seven ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

Among those nominated are Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi for Labour and Employment, and Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu for Foreign Affairs.

The cabinet reshuffle involves the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios.

For instance, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu is to move from Education to Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction while Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa has been redeployed from Health to Education.

Persecondnews reports that Uju Kennedy-Ohaneye, Women Affairs Minister, and Prof. Tahir Mamman, Education Minister, are among those sacked.

The reshuffle also involves the renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to Ministry of Regional Development, overseeing regional commissions, including Niger Delta, South East, North East, and North West Development Commissions.

In order to foster a thriving sports economy, the National Sports Commission has taken over the functions of the dissolved Ministry of Sports Development.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Arts and Culture have merged to form the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy.

The President thanked the outgoing ministers for their service and wished them well in their future endeavours.
