The newly appointed Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Mr. Kabiru Amadu, has urged the Super Eagles to secure maximum points in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) double-header qualifiers against Libya.
The Super Eagles will face Libya on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo and again in Benghazi on Tuesday.
Amadu, representing the Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency of Zamfara State, expressed optimism in the team’s ability to deliver victories.
“I have no doubt that the boys will make us proud against Libya,” he said.
He cited the team’s impressive performance against Benin Republic in Uyo and Rwanda in Kigali, despite the draw.
“I expect them to step up their game this Friday and continue from where they left off.”
Amadu assured the players of the National Assembly’s full support, stating that Speaker Tajudeen Abbas is always rooting for them to make Nigerians proud.
Nigeria currently tops Group D with four points from two matches, ahead of Friday’s tie with Libya.
With a strong team and determined coaching staff, the Super Eagles are poised to deliver a winning performance against Libya.
