The Dangote Oil Refinery will supply a total of 25 million litres of petrol to the Nigerian market daily starting from this September, according to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

In a terse statement on Tuesday on its official X handle, NMDPRA disclosed that it met with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) to agree on local crude supply, and the supply will rise to 30 million litres from September.

“At the NMDPRA headquarters in Abuja, NNPCL reached an agreement to commence crude oil sale and supply to Dangote Refinery in local currency.

“The refinery is now poised to supply an initial 25 million litres of PMS into the domestic market this September. And will subsequently increase this amount to 30 million litres daily from October 2024,” the NMDPRA said on its X page.

Earlier, Alhaji Aliko Dangote had officially announced the commencement of petrol production at the refinery.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for creating the conditions that allowed the refinery to complete this monumental task.

The business mogul spoke at a media briefing on Tuesday that the refinery would “fuel growth, development, and prosperity by supplying energy to our people.”
