The Nigerian national male football team, the Super Eagles, will wear for the first time their newly designed home kits by Nike against Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Friday, June 7 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital.
According to Persecondnews, the jersey will be an all-white design with green trimmings.
Finidi George’s side will also wear for the first time the away strips of green with a touch of black in the matchday four encounter against the Squirrels of Benin Republic in Abidjan next Monday.
The Super Eagles are looking to secure their first win in the World Cup qualifying series when they take on Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
They currently occupy second place in the group with two points from two games.
Preparation for the all-important encounter has been significantly impacted by the ongoing industrial action by organized labor as eight players are stranded in Lagos.
The affected players include Maduka Okoye, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, and Paul Onuachu. These players are currently in Nigeria but are unable to travel from Lagos to Uyo.
There was no training session on Monday evening as the players prepared for intensive sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, hopefully with a full squad.
The Bafana Bafana delegations are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday, with accommodations already booked at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot-Ekpene.
