Odili to Fubara: Don’t be afraid, nobody can shake you, we are solidly behind you

Odili urged Fubara to remain focused on his "people-focused objectives," saying the projects so far undertaken by the current administration are enough to secure the people's support for the 2027 election.

Dr. Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers State, has restated his unflinching support for Rivers Gov. Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.

Odili urged Fubara not to be afraid of anyone, making a passive reference to the Fubara-ex-Gov. Nyesom Wike standoff.

Speaking at the Omoku-Egbema Road inauguration on Saturday, the former governor stated that the state’s people are with Fubara.

Odili urged Fubara to remain focused on his “people-focused objectives,” saying the projects so far undertaken by the current administration are enough to secure the people’s support for the 2027 election.

Odili, who was Rivers governor from May 1999 to May 2007, said: “Don’t be afraid because when the people are with you, be assured that God is with you and no man can shake you.

In April 2024, Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said he no longer had a smooth relationship with Odili, whom he had frequently referred to as his “father.”

Persecondnews recalls that President Bola Tinubu appointed Wike as a minister after he served as governor of the oil-rich South-South state from May 2015 to May 2023.
