Banky W narrates cancer ordeal

Nigerian singer-turned-politician, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has opened up about his resilient battle against cancer, with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi Wellington, promising steadfast support.

The singer has been off the radar for some months after the 2023 election, where he contested for a seat in the House of Representatives in Abuja but lost.

In a recent social media update that sent waves across the internet, Banky W revealed his latest victory in the ongoing struggle against the disease.

This, he said, marked the third time he has faced and conquered skin cancer.

Expressing gratitude, Banky W attributed his triumph to the unwavering support of God, his loving wife, family, friends, and pastors.

In response, Adesua reaffirmed her commitment to be by his side no matter what, expressing boundless love and solidarity.

In a heartfelt message, Adesua reassured her husband, saying, “I love you. So so much. I dey for you, with you, by your side. Anytime any day. God is good.”

The couple’s touching display of unity and resilience garnered an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities and well-wishers.

Personalities such as Aproko Doctor, Nikki Laoye, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and Moses Bliss joined in, showering Banky W with words of encouragement and prayers.

Lami Phillips, in her message of support, declared, “You will live till a very ripe old age together and see your great grandchildren… Your lives will not be cut short.”

Nikki Laoye echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for Banky W’s victory and praying for continued strength and protection over his life.

In a lighter tone, Enioluwa Adeoluwa emphasized Banky W’s resilience, stating, “Dem fit try, but dem no fit spoil fine boy.”
