President Bola Tinubu has appointed two more commissioners to the National Population Commission.

Before the Federal Executive Council meeting began on Monday in the sacred Council Chamber in Abuja, the two commissioners, Mr. Fasuwa Johnson from Ogun State and Mr. Amidu Raheem from Osun State, took the oath of office.

The new NPC members received the oath of allegiance during the brief ceremony.

The Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, ministers, and other council members all witnessed the ceremony, according to Persecondnews.

In November 2023, President Tinubu appointed 20 federal commissioners in the NPC, with nine of them reappointed for a second term in office. He swore 17 of them into office on March 14.

The NPC is the principal data mining commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, saddled with collecting, collating, analysing, and publishing data about the Nigerian people and economy.
