The appointment of Damililola Marshall, daughter of Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Lagos State Government on Tourism has stirred mixed responses.

News of Damilila Marshall’s appointment as the SSA to the government on tourism surfaced recently, drawing both congratulatory messages from well-wishers and criticism from certain quarters.

While family and friends extended their felicitations to the newly appointed government official, online commenters expressed scepticism amidst the celebrations.

Social media reactions reflected a spectrum of opinions, with some questioning the perceived nepotism and privilege associated with her appointment, while others defended it as a legitimate career opportunity.

For instance, Ayinkeololade sarcastically commented, “Naira Marley’s lawyer. Nice one, Hmmm,” implying nepotism in the appointment.

Another one remarked, “They keep moving the cake in their circle…it is well,” suggesting a cycle of favoritism within certain circles.

One Sanusi_sekemi lamented:”This is what they called ‘Moving of Cake in the Same Circle’. It is well with us who have no connection with humans but believe in God’s connections.”

He thought about the unfair advantage he believed personal connections conferred.

However, degoldfabrics countered the criticism, stating, “Congratulations to everyone shouting for their father’s privilege; don’t we all pray to enjoy our parents privilege? When you grow, do not allow your own child to enjoy the connection you built while growing… Plus, did you even read her portfolio? “No be dunce,” highlighting the importance of recognizing individual merit and qualifications.

Meanwhile, controversies continue to swirl around K1’s personal life, particularly regarding his marriage to Emmanuella Ropo.

Recent statements from the singer’s band members seek to dispel rumours surrounding his marriage, asserting that speculation about his relationship is unfounded and based on misinformation.
