Suspected terrorists in large numbers invaded the Kajuru-Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with 87 people kidnapped on Sunday night.
A member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, Mr. Harisu Dari, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Monday in Kaduna, stating that the kidnappers invaded the community in large numbers and started shooting sporadically.
Harisu said the terrorists invaded the village at about 10 p.m. and also broke into some shops and stole food items and other valuables.
The attack came barely two days after 15 women and a man were abducted in the Dogon-Noma community of the same local government area.
Persecondnews recalls that Kajuru and Chikun council areas had in the past two weeks become the hotspot of kidnapping, causing tension in the state.
Harisu explained that no contact has been established yet with the 87 people abducted on Sunday night.
He said: “As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.
“The villagers are traumatized by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategize in tackling these terrorists.”
The recent surge in terrorist activities in the state in two weeks has resulted in the kidnapping of over 172 villagers.
