Klopp’s last dance with Pep Guardiola in Premier League ends in a draw.

The titanic battle between Liverpool and Manchester City ends in a draw, with Liverpool looking far more dangerous in the tie.

The results mean Arsenal go top of the log with the most slender of margins, tied on point with Liverpool, with just a goal difference separating both teams and one point ahead of Manchester City.

Despite Liverpool’s pressure in the opening stages of the encounter, Klopp’s defence line was breached after Kevin De Bruyne’s inch-perfect corner kick was converted by John Stones in the 24th minute.

Dominik Szoboszlai missed a glorious chance in the first half to level things up but fumbled with his header in the six yard box, heading wide.

About 90 seconds into the second half, the City goalkeeper fouled Darwin Nunez, resulting in a Liverpool penalty and life line to level the score.

Liverpool, who have missed more penalties than any team in the league this season, had a Mac Allister rocket of a penalty. Even though Ederson Moraes guessed right, the power and precision of the spot kick were unstoppable.

The fans at Anfield were noisy once again, singing and chanting the name of their manager, Jurgen Klopp, who’s having one last dance with Pep Guardiola as Liverpool manager.

Mo Salah had an almost immediate impact with his pass, catching the City defence off guard to set up a scoring chance for Liverpool, with Luiz Diaz squandering the opportunity from close range.

Jeremy Doku, who hasn’t scored in the league since November, almost got the winner in the 90th minute with a shot coming off the woodwork.

Klopp’s tactics left Erling Halaand isolated in the final third, as his 4-3-3 formation suffocated City in the midfield, restricting Guardoila’s men to shots from long yards.

The incessant pressure from Liverpool made City fans sweat on a rainy night at Anfield. The two rivals shared the spoils as the reigning champions were held to a draw at Liverpool’s turf.

This will be Klopp’s last game against Guardoila in the Premier League, with the German departing his position at the end of the season.
