A resident doctor and health influencer, Dr. Olusina Ajidahun, has raised an alarm over the emergence of a new dangerous psychoactive substance known as Kush.

The Nigerian doctor, popularly known as The_Bearded_Dr_Sina, who raised the alarm on his X (formerly Twitter) page, disclosed that it is one of the most dangerous hard drugs on the streets of Nigeria.

According to him, Kush is a mixture of tramadol, fentanyl, weed, and formalin used to preserve human corpses and crushed human bones gotten from decayed dead bodies.

“This KUSH is gaining ground in Sierra Leone, and sadly, it has found its way into Nigeria.

“So this Kush is a mixture of tramadol, fentanyl, weed, formalin (the same one used for preserving dead bodies), and crushed human bones.

“So what they do is exhume dead bodies that are known to be decaying and not fresh. Sometimes these culprits are also careful to target the bones of dead drug users.

“Their belief is that bone has an amount of sulphur, and when mixed with a tonne of substances, the gas it generates and the resulting substance can create some form of euphoria.

“Some also sniff these dead bones to get high. Decaying matter also releases ammonia, which is pungent, which they sniff.

“The dangers: Tramadol and Fentanyl are opioids carrying the dangers of addiction, the ability to cut off breathing, various system changes, and damages.

“Formalin is a toxic gas that can damage the brain, liver, lungs, and many other organs.

“Cannabis comes with its own list of dangers. Burning bones also release a host of gases that can be toxic. Now imagine taking a substance that has all these in one.

“This practice is already gaining popularity in Northern Nigeria, and various parts are also experimenting with it. I do hope we are able to curtail it,” he wrote.
