Abuja – The new national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday said that it will not be responsible for or respond to any person or groups of individuals who decide to allow themselves to be used by forces from another political party in a laughable and childish attempt to distract it.
This is just as it stressed that it is completely unperturbed by the comical act of some individuals who make outlandish claims in the media regarding the PDP.
National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, who stated these while responding to the actions of a parallel faction that emerged in Abuja led by one Emmanuel Nwosu, said the fact remains that the PDP is happy with the efforts of the Governor Seriake Dickson-led Reconciliation Committee as well as the responses from all the respectable and responsible leaders of the party in that regard.
Ologbondiyan further said the PDP under the Prince Uche Secondus-led national leadership will continue to focus on repositioning the Party to be the formidable opposition that will guarantee checks and balances in the polity and ultimately regain power in 2019.
The Nwosu-led Fresh PDP group has called for the nullification of the December 9, 2017 national convention of the Party.
The Fresh PDP group told journalists at a press conference in Abuja at its newly opened secretariat, located at Tito Broz street, off Jimmy Carter street, Asokoro District, said the process that led to the emergence of the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee was fraught with illegality and abuse of electoral process.
