FG partners UNDP to train 3,000 youths in technical skills

The Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has entered into a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria to offer 3,000 paid internship to 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program.

According to the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the 3MTT is an initiative of the federal government aimed at training three million Nigerians in technical skills over the next four years.

He noted that the 3MTT program is a critical part of the Renewed Hope agenda, and is aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power its digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.

Tijani announced this through a post on X on Tuesday.

He wrote: “We are pleased to announce a partnership with @UNDPNigeria to offer 3,000 paid internships to our 3MTT fellows.

“These 12 month internships will help fulfill our objective to ensure that participants in the 3MTT programme get placed in roles that will allow them apply the skills they learn in the programme.”

Persecondnews reports that according to the implementation plans released by the government, the training will be held in 3 phases.

The first phase is expected to accommodate 30,000 people, while the second phase will admit 300,000, and the 3 million to be completed in the third phase.
