Just before he jets out of the country for London on a 14-day medical checkup,President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday held a crucial security meeting with the security chiefs.
Also in attendance were Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, the Defence Minister, retired Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi and the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and the National Security Adviser, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno.
The service chiefs are Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff; Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ishiaka Oladayo Amoo.
Others are Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, the Director-General of Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, and the Director-General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
Persecondnews recalls that the Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, had on Monday announced that Buhari would proceed to London, the United Kingdom on March 30, 2021, for a routine medical check-up.
However, the statement was silent on whether power was transferred to the Vice-President while Buhari would be away from the country.
