The Lagos State Police Command have apprehended five suspected hoodlums in a fresh attack on a Police station at Igando, a Lagos suburb.

Persecond News reports that the attack came three days after police officers attached to the burnt Igando Police Division heeded the directive of the Inspector-General, Mr Mohammed Adamu, to go back to their duty posts.

The hoodlums had gathered to attack traffic officers at the ever-busy bus stop close to the burnt station for returning to their duties.

Following a tip-off, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Taiwo Kasumu, along with the Igando community task force and  the Oba of Igando, swung into action and arrested five of the hoodlums.

Items recovered from the suspects included two locally made guns, five cutlasses, charms and a large quantity of weeds suspected to be cannabis.

He gave the names of the suspects as Kelvin Johnson (20), Aderoju Theophilus (20) Adeleke Bankole (22), Adebayo Raimi (22) and Lateef Abdulmalik (19).

Confirming the incident, the State Command spokesman, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects has been transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) for further interrogation.

Hoodlums had in October during the #EndSARS protest attacked Igando Police Station and looted exhibits before setting it on fire.
