Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Okowa announced this in a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday.
The duo had gone into self-isolation two weeks ago after one of their daughters had tested positive to the virus.
The governor, however, said in a glimmer of hope of recovery that they are well and are on medication.
“My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter,” he wrote.
PerSecondnews recalls that governors of Oyo, Bauchi, Abia, Kaduna and Ondo had contracted the virus.
Ondo Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu had on June 30 announced his status and is currently undergoing treatment.
