Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe, and the Managing Director of FGN Power Company Limited, Kenny O. Anuwe, will lead discussions on the country’s electricity challenges and the power sector reforms needed to support its ambition of building a $1 trillion economy at the 6th Annual Conference of the Power Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PCAN).

The conference, scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026, in Abuja, will examine Nigeria’s roadmap to reliable and affordable electricity, with policymakers, regulators, power generation and distribution companies, investors, development partners and industry experts expected to participate.

Tegbe is expected to chair the conference, while Anuwe will deliver the keynote address on “FGN Power: Progress, Priorities and the Road Ahead”, outlining the company’s interventions and strategic priorities in the electricity sector.

The conference comes amid continuing efforts by the Federal Government to attract investment, strengthen electricity infrastructure and improve power supply across the country.

PCAN Chairman Obas Esiedesa said reliable and affordable electricity would be essential to achieving Nigeria’s economic growth target, particularly in expanding industrial production, improving business competitiveness and creating jobs.

“With Nigeria pursuing its ambition of building a $1 trillion economy, access to reliable and affordable electricity remains critical to industrial expansion, business competitiveness, job creation and improved living standards,” Esiedesa said.

He said the conference would provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the relationship between the country’s economic ambitions and the performance of its electricity sector.

Discussions will focus on power sector reforms, investment opportunities, infrastructure development, financing mechanisms and sustainable approaches to improving electricity supply.
