Nigerian skitmaker and actor, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has revealed that threats to his family forced him to stop speaking publicly about the government.

Mr Macaroni made the disclosure in a new interview monitored by Per Second News while reflecting on his decision to pull back from direct commentary on government and political issues.

According to the skitmaker, the threats became so serious that his family no longer felt safe, with his mother allegedly calling him in tears over strange movements around their home.

“I stopped talking about the government because I was receiving so many threats, and my family wasn’t safe,” Mr Macaroni said.

“My mom would call me crying that there are strange movements around the house. It was so bad they wanted to fly me out, but I said, ‘No, I’m staying.’”

Rather than citing a change in his convictions, Mr Macaroni linked his decision to the pressure and threats that he said began affecting people close to him.

He recalled the emotional toll the situation took on his mother, particularly when she became concerned about movements around the family home.

According to him, the situation became serious enough for people around him to consider sending him out of the country for his safety.

But despite the suggestion that he leave, Mr Macaroni said he rejected the idea and chose to remain in Nigeria.

“It was so bad they wanted to fly me out, but I said, ‘No, I’m staying,’” he said.
