The family of veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has appealed to Nigerians and his fans across the world to continue praying for him, saying his fragile condition makes it extremely difficult to move him from the hospital for spiritual consultation or treatment.
The family, in a statement made available to Per Second News, disclosed that it had received more than 300 offers from individuals who believe they have spiritual, medical or other forms of assistance that could help the ailing actor.
According to the family, the overwhelming response from fans, colleagues, friends and well-wishers has demonstrated the depth of love and concern for Ogogo as he continues to receive medical care.
“We sincerely appreciate everyone who has shown concern about the health of our dear colleague, Alhaji Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo,” the family said.
The family said it had received numerous messages, prayers, encouragement and offers of assistance from people across the globe, adding that it remained deeply grateful to everyone who had reached out.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has volunteered to assist us spiritually, medically, and in every other way possible,” it said.
It explained that some of those who contacted the family offered spiritual assistance, treatment and other interventions which they genuinely believed could help the actor recover.
“We have received hundreds of such offers, and we sincerely appreciate every single one of them,” the family stated.
However, the family said Ogogo’s current condition had made it practically impossible to move him from the hospital to different locations in search of spiritual assistance or treatment.
“It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help,” the statement read.
The family further appealed to those who had offered assistance not to interpret its inability to bring Ogogo to them as a rejection of their intentions or a lack of appreciation for their concern.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him.
“The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?” the family said.
It stressed that the decision to keep Ogogo in the hospital was influenced by his fragile state, insisting that moving him around at this stage could be extremely difficult.
The family, therefore, urged well-wishers to continue offering their support from wherever they are, particularly through prayers, while expressing confidence that he would overcome the situation.
“Please, continue to pray with us. We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation successfully. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” the family said.
It added: “Keep praying. Keep supporting us. Keep believing with us. Whatever you believe can be done from your end, please continue to do so.”
