Kano Pillars have secured one of Nigeria’s most promising coaches, Daniel Ogunmodede, popularly called “Ijaball,” as their new Technical Adviser to spearhead a major comeback in the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The appointment was announced on Friday in Kano in a statement by the club’s Media Director, Isma’eel Tangalashi, obtained by Persecondnews.

It forms a central part of the club’s ongoing restructuring drive aimed at reinforcing the technical department and elevating overall team standards in both domestic and continental campaigns.

Club officials described Ogunmodede’s arrival as a decisive move towards reclaiming top-flight relevance and restoring Kano Pillars’ traditional fighting spirit in the NPFL.

The experienced tactician replaces Muhammad Babaganaru.

Last season, the Kano-based side endured a difficult campaign, finishing 15th on the log with 48 points collected from 38 matches.

Widely viewed as one of the brightest coaching minds in the country, Ogunmodede joins Kano Pillars fresh from building Remo Stars into a formidable force.

Persecondnews recalls that the coach had guided the Ikenne club to their maiden NPFL championship and successfully led them into the CAF Champions League, leaving behind a trail of remarkable achievements.
