President Bola Tinubu has left for France to begin a series of high-level international engagements.

Persecondnews reports that his aircraft departed the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday, following a formal send-off by senior officials and military personnel.

Rescheduled from Saturday, the President’s itinerary begins with high-level talks in France before he proceeds to Nairobi for the Africa–France Summit on May 11–12.

Co-chaired by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, the summit will prioritize discussions on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and economic cooperation.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had said the trip is part of ongoing efforts to deepen Nigeria’s economic ties and strengthen strategic partnerships with global stakeholders.

After the Nairobi engagement, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.

The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will bring together global business leaders and policymakers to discuss investment opportunities and economic growth across the continent.

The statement added that the President will use the engagements to highlight his administration’s reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a prime destination for investment, while also holding high level meetings with global and African business leaders.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
