The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi, has declined to constitute a judicial panel to investigate Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, over allegations of gross misconduct by the State House of Assembly.
Persecondnews reported that the House of Assembly had petitioned the CJ to Constitute the panel, but Amadi cited two court orders barring him from appointing one.
The court orders, served on Amadi’s office on January 16, 2026, remain in force, and he emphasized that adhering to judicial directives is essential.
Speaker Martins Amaewhule has already filed an appeal against the court orders at the Court of Appeal.
