President Bola Tinubu has departed Lagos for Europe, kicking off his end-of-year break before heading to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit.

The summit, scheduled for early January, is a premier event that brings together global leaders to drive sustainable development.

“The President’s trip is part of his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s international partnerships and promoting sustainable growth,” said Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) in a terse statement on Sunday sent to Persecondnews.

The ADSW summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on innovation, finance, and people, showcasing ways to accelerate sustainable progress.

Tinubu has been invited by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to share Nigeria’s sustainability initiatives.

The Nigerian leader is expected to highlight his administration’s reforms in energy efficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development during the summit.

He will also engage with UAE leaders to strengthen bilateral ties.
