The Senate Selection Committee has announced the reconstitution of several standing committees of the 10th Senate.
The Chairman of the committee and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced this during Tuesday’s plenary session on the floor of the Red Chamber.
Among the changes is the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, now chaired by Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi from Kebbi State.
Until the reshuffle, Sen. Abdullahi served as Chairman of the Committee on National Planning.
The Senate Committee on Livestock and Animal Husbandry has also been reconstituted, with Sen. Shehu Buba from Bauchi State appointed as chairman.
His new assignment comes after he was removed last week as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
Sen. Mustafa Musa from Yobe State has been named the new Chairman of the Committee on National Planning.
In addition, the Senate Committee on Air Force will now be led by the Minority Whip, Sen. Osita Ngwu from Enugu State, who assumes the role of acting chairman.
Before this appointment, Sen. Ngwu served as the deputy chairman of the committee, which was previously chaired by Sen. Godiya Akwashiki, who is currently indisposed.
